INVERCLYDE school children are in with a chance win a cruise for their class aboard the iconic Waverley paddle steamer this summer.
Pupils are being tasked with making a replica of the 77-year-old steamer from their household items to win this an unforgettable sail doon the watter.
Winners will cruise down the famous River Clyde, viewing landmarks such as the restored Victorian sailing ship Glenlee and the historic Dumbarton Castle sitting on the volcanic Dumbarton Rock.
They will also sail under the Erskine bridge before passing the Port Glasgow to arrive in Greenock for some fantastic views.
Onboard the Waverley, pupils will be able to view the ship's powerful steam engine, see the massive paddle wheels turn and meet the captain.
At the end of the journey, pupils will also be able to take home an exclusive Waverley gift from the onboard shop.
The closing date for entries is April 28, with provisions to set sail in May.
The Greenock Telegraph will get in touch with the winning school to arrange coach travel to and from the school.
