A TOTAL of eight different licensed premises in Inverclyde are being reviewed due to non-payment of statutory fees worth almost £6,000.
Papers prepared for a meeting of the Licensing Board list outstanding annual fees owed in respect of shops, two restaurants, a social club and a nightspot.
But several of the premises are defunct and no longer trading.
The Family Stores shop in Robert Street, Port Glasgow, is said to owe £880 covering a period of four years while the town's Gate of India shop on Mansion Avenue is said to owe £660 across three years.
The Big Night In, on Gourock's Kempock Street, is listed as owing £560 since 2022, while a shop on Corlic Street in the east end of Greenock is being pursued for over £1,000 covering five years.
The Cathay Royale restaurant on West Blackhall Street in Greenock is said by officials to owe £1,120 dating back to 2020.
The former Greenock Police Club on Thom Street is listed as owing £540 going back to 2021, the year it closed down.
Red nightclub, which is also shut, has a debt of £560 against its name according to officials, covering the years 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Former Greenock tapas restaurant Fenwick 47, which closed over a year ago, is said to owe £500 going back to 2022.
The combined total outstanding is £5,920, with the reviews due to be discussed at a meeting of the Licensing Board in the Greenock Municipal Buildings on Thursday.
