CHATTY churchgoers have been going the extra mile to boost their health
Members of two Port Glasgow churches 'walk and talk' together every second Saturday.
The group leave Port New Parish Church at 10am and walk through the town to Coronation Park and onto either Kingston Dock or Newark Castle.
Reverend William Boyle, and Reverend Susan Henderson, who is minister for United Reform Churches of Port Glasgow, Greenock East and West, started the group three years ago and it has taken off.
Susan said: "We started the group back in 2021 when there were still some restrictions.
"Now we can have up to 20 people coming along.
"We walk in groups and people always have a walking partner.
"We have a mixed age range, from a toddler who is managing to walk a wee bit of the route to people in their eighties."
After their exercise the walkers return to Port Glasgow New Parish Church for a hearty breakfast and they are inviting others to join them.
The next walk is on Saturday March 16.
