A BAND of Scottish rockers with an Inverclyde connection have been praised by a legendary sixties singer.

The Ronains - whose drummer Linzi Ronain grew up in Port Glasgow - recorded a cover of The Animals' classic 'House of The Rising Sun' back in 2019 and officially released this week.

Their version of the song has reached the ears of Eric Burdon, the lead singer of The Animals, who had a hit with the song back in 1964.

In an email to the band, Eric said the band did a 'great job'.

He added: "This song is nearly 60 years old and it really hits my heart strings.

"It makes me so proud to know young bands are still singing it."
