AN ARREST warant has been issued for a Greenock man accused of driving while over the cocaine limit after he failed to appear for trial.
John McAlpine, 43, was due to have his case heard at the sheriff court yesterday.
He is charged with driving a car while the proportion of cocaine in his blood was 32 micrograms per litre – more than three times the legal limit of ten mcg.
McAlpine, of Carwood Street, is alleged to have driven while ply or cord was exposed on the vehicle's front offside tyre.
The alleged incident is said to have taken place on Greenock Road in Port Glasgow on December 3, 2022.
No explanation was given for McAlpine's absence, with Sheriff Shelagh McCall granting the warrant to apprehend.
