A SUMMER of shows is lying in wait for a Gourock DJ as he jets off to Ibiza for a fortnight of superclubs and sunshine.

Bruce Glenny is gearing up for a busy spell abroad which will see him play in front of thousands at an iconic venue before returning to Scotland to play the country’s biggest music festival.

The local music producer is hoping to play five shows while out on the Spanish party island, including two at Eden, one of the its massive superclubs.

He is also looking ahead to July, when he will make his third appearance at TRNSMT in Glasgow, playing on the same day as big names like Calvin Harris and Chase & Status.

Bruce will also be running the now-annual ‘Terraza del Clyde’ festival at Gourock Yacht Club on June 1, which has sold almost 300 tickets.

Greenock Telegraph: Bruce Glenny set for summer of shows and superclubs.

He told the Tele: “It’s going to be a really exciting couple of months.

“We have potentially five shows in Ibiza while we’re out there for the two weeks and we’ll be going to two, maybe three superclubs, while we’re out there.

“In Ibiza the superclubs hold thousands of people so it’ll be a crazy experience.

“There’ll be a massive buzz about the place, the club is an iconic venue on the island and hopefully it’ll open the door to other places in the coming years and months.

“It’s my first time on the island and I think it’s really going to be fun.

“To be getting introduced to Ibiza is huge, it’s a whole culture and brand unto itself and I’m really excited to be part of it.”

Bruce has in recent years played gigs all across the world, flying out to places like Miami and Spain for big shows.

His upcoming TRNSMT appearance will put him among a select few who have played at the festival on three or more occasions.

He added: “I think there are only a handful of people who have done it that many times.

“It’s between me, a DJ in Glasgow called Dan South, Gerry Cinnamon, Jamie Webster and Liam Gallagher I think.

“It’s quite cool to be in that club, I’m really looking forward to being back.

“Playing the same day as Calvin Harris and Chase & Status is nuts.

“Calvin Harris was playing in Miami the same time as I was there, he will be playing in Ibiza at the same time as me and TRNSMT too, hopefully I bump into him at some point.

“Being on the same line-up as those guys is amazing, even if my name is a good bit smaller!”
