GREENOCK'S Beacon Arts Centre is one of just five Scottish venues to have been nominated for a UK-wide award for a hit pantomime last year.

The waterfront site's run of Beauty and the Beast - which sold more than 17,500 tickets across 39 performances and featured Still Game stars Jane McCarry and Mark Cox - is among five nominees in the Best Ensemble category at the 2024 Pantomime Awards.

Natalie Tedesco, Alistair Fitton-Weir, Alison Hunter and Sean Van Oostrum have been nominated for their parts in the panto, while shows at the Tron Theatre and King's Theatre in Glasgow, Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling and Eden Court in Inverness are also nominated in other categories.

Organised by The UK Pantomime Association, the awards ceremony will take place on June 18 in Guildford.
