AN INVERCLYDE band say they are delighted with the reaction to their latest tune after releasing their second single of 2024.

Crashes shared Temporary Love on streaming platforms last week, accompanied by a self-produced animated music video.

The band – formed in 2017 – is made up of singer Craig Glover, guitarist Andrew Vaughan, bassist Johnny Branchfield and drummer Rory Breaker.

Their sound is described as a blend of pop and rock with ‘big riffs, surging rhythms and anthem-style melodies’.

Greenock Telegraph:

Temporary Love follows Living In The Future, which was released in January.

Craig told the Tele: “The reaction has been really good.

“We’ve had various online publications pick it up and promote it.

“We were 'artist of the week' on Unsigned Pop Punk and we were featured on the Blood Sweat and Beers podcast too.”

The new single's music video was inspired by 16-bit retro games and was produced by one of the band's own.

Craig said: “Rory’s taken a new interest in animation, so the new video was entirely his work.

"He probably spent more than 100 hours on it.

“It’s a really good result and it matches well with the song.

"We were buzzing with the job he did, it looks like a professional effort.”

Crashes have been working alongside producer Bruce Rintoul - who has been involved with Scottish bands such as Twin Atlantic, Fatherson and Vukovi.

They hope to continue their new music streak with the release of a third single in the coming months.

The band also plans to book a hometown gig in the next few months to play the tracks for a local crowd.

Greenock Telegraph:

Craig said: “We’ll let this one percolate first and then drop the next one.

“That one has predominantly been written by Andrew.

“It’s the first time in the band’s history that we’ll have a single drop that wasn’t just written by me – so it adds a whole new dimension to the sound, which is nice.”
