ONE of Ardgowan's Hospice's best loved and most loyal members of staff is a finalist in this year's Scottish Charity Awards.

Janice Lee has worked with the hospice for over 20 years, helping to support children and families through the worst time of their lives.

She has been nominated for Employee of the Year, in recognition of the incredible impact she has had on so many patients and the high regard she is held in.

Bosses at the local charity say that they are thrilled to see a stalwart like Janice in the spotlight and they hope that she will win triumph when the awards bash is held in Glasgow next month.

Ardgowan Hospice chief executive Graham Gardiner said: "Janice has dedicated over 20 years to Ardgowan Hospice.

"To see her nominated for Employee of the Year at the SCVO Awards fills me with immense pride and gratitude.

"Her tireless efforts and profound impact truly embody the spirit of our hospice, and her recognition is a testament to the remarkable individuals who make our community stronger every day."

Run annually by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the Scottish Charity Awards celebrate the best of the country's voluntary sector.

While a judging panel will determine the winners under 10 distinct categories, members of the public can have their say by voting for their favourite overall entry in the People’s Choice Award.

To vote for hospice wellbeing worker Janice online visit scvo.scot/vote before 5pm on May 24.

This year’s shortlist includes 39 individuals and organisations from charities and voluntary groups across the country following a record-breaking number of nominations.

The 2024 Scottish Charity Awards winners will be announced at a celebratory awards ceremony being held in Glasgow on Thursday June 20 which will be hosted by the broadcaster Sally Magnusson.
