REPAIR work was yesterday carried out on the busy stretch of road in Gourock which broke up during last week’s freak storms.
Floodwater caused part of the surface at the channelised junction to disintegrate in the early hours of last Wednesday.
Council roads crews were called out to the scene and had to block the road, meaning motorists coming from Gourock town centre have been unable to travel up Larkfield Road and instead been diverted along to the far end of Manor Crescent.
Workmen were on the scene yesterday morning as roadworks started, with a contraflow put in place and temporary traffic lights which led to delays.
The damaged patch of road was repaired in time for rush hour traffic to return to normal.
