What shocking news in the Tele Postbag on Friday February 23 that Martin Brennan is going to vote Labour at the next general election.

Of course he failed to mention that he is a former Labour Party Provost of Inverclyde and a lifelong Labour supporter.

What revelations can we expect next? Tory politicians voting for a Tory, or even Green politicians voting for the Greens!

True to form Mr Brennan failed to mention specific Labour policies. The two child cap where families are hammered or the policy not to raise corporation tax. Taxing hard-pressed families to allow tax breaks for big business.

He also failed to mention Labour's appalling record on the NHS where it is in power - Wales has the worst performing NHS by any measure.

And there was no mention of Labour's slavish support for Brexit...which wins it support in England at the same time as severely damaging Scottish businesses and our economy.

Mr Brennan also did not mention Sir Keir Starmer's failure to support a ceasefire in Gaza stretching back many months, which led to 56 of his MPs rebelling to support the SNP ceasefire motion in November.

He also didn't refer to Sir Keir Starmer's u-turn on the pledge to end the Tories' cruel benefits sanction regime, or the u-turn on the pledge to invest £28 billion in the green economy.

People in Inverclyde want a party that will stand up to the Westminster unionist parties...because we all know that they are fundamentally the same and will treat Scotland as an afterthought at best.

That means a party that will champion our values, not the values of the Tory right.
