FOLLOWING the recent column by the Provost about how we can keep visiting cruise ship tourists in our area, as a taxi driver, one of top jobs I had picking up tourists was they wanted to see old buildings.

In the Inverclyde area there are so many nice old looking buildings.

If the council could just put some nice lights to glow them at night I guarantee tourists will come even from Glasgow to here.

It could show off buildings like the sheriff court, St Mary’s Church and few others in Union Street.

Plus as a country that has almost non-stop rain, you don’t see that many trees on the main road.

The roundabouts are so ugly and empty and on the main road in Inverclyde there is nothing nice to look at.
