DUNFERMLINE boss Allan Johnston insists that visiting Cappielow is always a highlight of his season — even though he expects a difficult game.

Johnston says he is relishing tomorrow’s return to a venue that he has always been fond of during his career and under no illusions about what to expect.

He told the Tele: “It’s always a hard game [away at Cappielow].

“I’ve played there a number of times during my career and it’s a place I always enjoy going to play.

“It’s always a great atmosphere and a great pitch, but we know we’re in for a very tough game because both teams are in need of a win.”

The 42-year-old watched last weekend as his side were thwarted by Dundee United goalkeeper Cammy Bell — who made a hat-trick of penalty saves during his side’s 3-1 victory.

Ex Hearts, Rangers, Sunderland and Kilmarnock star Johnston maintains that his team have recovered from that and are fully focused on their challenge this weekend.

He said: “The boys are over it.

“Obviously we were disappointed but there were a lot of positives to take out the game and it’s another massive one again this weekend.

“That’s the thing about the Championship, you’re playing against top quality teams every week so we know we’re in for a tough one.

“I was at the game a few weeks ago when Morton beat Hamilton and I thought they were brilliant that night. So we know how difficult a test it’s going to be.”
