DUNFERMLINE gaffer Allan Johnston reckons a draw would have been a fairer reflection of Saturday's game at Cappielow - but the loss sums up his sides' season so far.

Johnston's men sit ninth in the Ladbrokes Championship after just one win from six in the league, and the manager believes his team need to change things soon - or risk a dogfight at the bottom end of the table come the latter stages of the season.

He said: "I'm very disappointed. We need to be much better than that. Without being disrespectful, we need to come to places like Morton and win.

"A draw would probably be a fair result. They [Ton] had three shots and scored two. But that sums up our last two games. We're getting punished for everything just now but there's no excuses, we're miles better than that and we've got to move on quickly."

And Johnston believes his team are only getting what they deserve after another disappointing result for the Pars.

"I don't think we done enough. Their front two caused us a lot of problems and were very good. And we've got to deal with that better. It's a team thing, we can't blame individuals, we need to work even harder as a team. Sometimes when results aren't going your way, you've got to get your head down and make sure everyone pulls together and make sure we turn the corner.

"Because that's not good enough, we are better than that. You get what you deserve sometimes and we need to work harder because it's only us who can get ourselves out of the position we're in."
