HONESTLY it is so difficult to judge Morton other than on a week by week basis at the moment.

We simply cannot see any real level of consistency which would allow us to set certain levels of expectancy!

After last week’s win which brought us back into the play-off fight we were brought back down to earth on Saturday when a really decent Airdrie team achieved a well deserved victory.

It wasn’t as though we didn’t create some decent chances in the game, but once again individual mistakes cost us and certain players definitely look as though their legs have gone and must surely be benched for what is a must-win game tonight.

I cling to the hope that we can beat Ayr this evening and Airdrie lose, which would enable us to sneak back into the running for the play-offs but on the other hand if we lose then we are back involved in the relegation play-off battle.

One thing for sure is that the remaining five games of this season are likely to produce a rollercoaster of emotions amongst our loyal supporters with almost zero level of expectancy.
