MORTON boss Dougie Imrie hopes that his side's victory against Arbroath can be the catalyst to signing off their season in style as he targets three wins from three in their final league games.

Imrie admits his side should have had more than just the two strikes that got past Red Lichties keeper Max Boruc last weekend but he admits he just cared about his players having a platform to go and finish the season strongly.

Morton's prospects heading into this weekend's tie against Raith Rovers have taken a hit though, with Cameron Blues and Jack Baird needing to be assessed ahead of the game - but that won't stop Imrie going out to try and beat the big-talking Stark's Park side for the first time this season.

He told the Tele: "We could have had a lot more on Saturday. We had the chances to get more. Robbie Crawford has hit the keeper from six or seven yards, Jai's had a chance, there's been one or two others that were slashed across goal.

"But in the main, the Arbroath game wasn't about a performance it was just about getting the points on the board and we were delighted to get down the road with three points.

"That's the aim now, to go and win the remaining games and finish as strongly as possible. We're one down now and we've got two to go.

"We've came away from Gayfield with a few walking wounded though, so we'll need to assess where they're at and take things from there.

"But regardless, the team that goes out against Raith this weekend is a team that will be set up to go and win the game."
